Enjoy your visit to the Vatican Museums with an Official Vatican Guided Tour. This approximately 2-hour guided itinerary allows visitors to explore selected masterpieces and key areas of the Vatican Museums alongside an expert guide.
On the day of your visit, head to the entrance of the Vatican Museums located on Viale Vaticano.
Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
Show your booking voucher (printed or on your smartphone/tablet) to the Security Staff.
After passing through security, proceed directly to the Guided Tours Desk to collect your tickets and meet your guide.
The Vatican Museums are the museums of the Vatican City and are located within the city’s boundaries. They display works from the immense collection built up by Popes throughout the centuries including some of the most renowned classical sculptures and Renaissance masterpieces.
The Sistine Chapel is one of the world’s most renowned art galleries, located in the Vatican City. It is renowned for its incredible frescoes and stunning architecture, and has been a destination for art lovers and religious pilgrims for centuries.
The Vatican Museums are open from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, with the last admission at 6:00 pm.
The museums are closed on Sundays, with the exception of the last Sunday of the month when they are open and admission is free.
Visitors should note that the Sistine Chapel is a sacred place, and therefore it is necessary to dress appropriately (no shorts, tank tops or uncovered shoulders).
Taking photographs inside the Sistine Chapel is prohibited.

The Vatican Museums are located in the Vatican City, a walled enclave within the city of Rome.
The best way to arrive is by metro. The closest station is Ottaviano-San Pietro, located on Line A. There are also several bus lines that pass nearby. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or a private car.
Cipro – Musei Vaticani: The closest stop to the Vatican Museums and to the Sistine Chapel.
Ottaviano – San Pietro: A short walk from St. Peter’s Square and St. Peter’s Basilica.
